New addition to Nordic Sustainability

Meet Michelle! She is the newest addition to the Nordic Sustainability team. While Michelle’s from Canada, through living in Copenhagen for the past two years she’s become a keen cyclist, lover of baked goods, and persistently struggles on her pursuit of Danish literacy.

Michelle’s first task will be to contribute to the analysis and writing the 2019 Cities100 publication in collaboration with C40 and Danish foundation Realdania, while also supporting other client projects.

Strong sustainability background
Michelle has extensive experience with communicating sustainability, including previous roles with the Danish think-tank Sustainia, and the Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change in Canada. Her background gives her a solid understanding of sustainability through her Bachelors of Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo.

Thinking about how she could further develop impactful solutions addressing climate change, has lead Michelle to pursue a Masters of Sustainable Design at Aalborg University Copenhagen. During this time she’s developed a design-based problem solving approach, which has included developing a solution for a family-owned Danish tea shop to halve the environmental impact of their packaging, and creating a concept in partnership with ALDI Denmark that tackles food waste inside their stores. She’s excited to put her knowledge of sustainable organisational transformation to work in her new role at Nordic Sustainability.
