Caterina recently joined Nordic Sustainability as an Associate Consultant, and we’re stoked to have her on the team!
Holistic and interdisciplinary approach to sustainability
Caterina´s passion for sustainability began at an early age. Growing up in one of Europe’s southernmost corners – Sicily – she early on understood the impact that increasing temperatures can have on all forms of life. As she grew up, she decided to further explore her interest in the interlinkages between the natural world and our society by pursuing a degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability at the University of Glasgow. She is now studying for a master’s degree in Climate Change at the University of Copenhagen.
Caterina has previously held student positions at both public and non-governmental institutions, with her most recent work experience being at the Hanoi-based Vietnamese NGO GreenID, for which she conducted research on the adoption of EVs in developing countries.
Most passionate about topics like environmental justice and society-based solutions, Caterina has been advocating for sustainability-related topics, for example while writing for the Italian encyclopaedia Treccani, or while setting up a sustainability blog during her working experience with the Palermo-based publishing house Navarra Editore. She also recently became a European Climate Pact Ambassador.
In her free time Caterina enjoys experimenting with all things artsy, such as paper making and eco-printmaking. She also loves good conversations over a glass of beer, or while trying out new plant-based recipes.
Caterina is convinced that corporate action is vital to achieve the ambitious global goals she believes in. With knowledge in climate responsibility, GHG reduction, and specific target setting, she is more than excited to become part of this change starting her journey with Nordic Sustainability.
