Joaquim Querol Mercadé (he/him)

Communication's Associate

Joaquim Querol Mercadé joins as our Communications Associate, bringing a diverse background in psychotherapy, sustainability research, and education. With a diverse academic background, including an MSc in Environmental, Economical, and Social Sustainability and ongoing studies in Global and Development, Joaquim has demonstrated a keen ability to analyze and articulate complex environmental and social issues. His experience spans from psychotherapy toleading innovative research projects, and contributing to urban policy development.

His previous role as an intern in the Climate Change Department for the city of Barcelona contributed to expanding his knowledge on urban policy making, data management. This made him want to dig further into corporate sustainability and get a hands-on experience of the dinamic world of the private sector. Joaquim’s role will leverage his insight and passion for sustainability, enhancing our communication strategies and driving narratives within the sustainability space.

At the core of his vision on sustainability lies his interest on people. His last MSc thesis at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, where as a Research Leader, he developed methods to analyze and measure the intangible relations people establish with the environment led him to receive the Maria de Maeztu Excellence grant. Other previous fieldwork in Nepal and Finland, where he got to experience the vulnerability of certain practices and habitats due to global warming and loss of habitat, further deepened his commitment to sustainable practices.

"In weaving the fabric of sustainability into the narrative of businesses, we unlock the potential to craft a future where prosperity is measured not just by financial gain, but by the well-being of our planet and its inhabitants."
