Serena Grover (she/her)

Associate Consultant

As an Associate Consultant, Serena supports the Sustainable Finance team at Nordic Sustainability.

Serena’s grounding lies in Economics, having undertaken her bachelor’s at the University of Edinburgh and now further pursing the subject through a master’s degree at the University of Copenhagen. She is passionate about applying economic tools to propel and support social and environmental change, whilst working with inter-disciplinary teams. Having gained field-work experience on projects in Uganda and Poland, she values a pluralistic approach particularly for sustainability matters.

Originally from the UK, Serena gained experience in sustainable finance through internships with the Global Steering Group for Impact Investing and the Impact Investing Institute. She was able to work with leaders in the field, to gain first-hand experience on revolutionary projects, such as Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) and Harvard Business School’s Impact Weighted Accounts Initiative. Her interest in the field inspired her bachelor’s thesis on how Finland’s integration SIB has helped to reduce the fiscal burden of refugee immigration within the economy, whilst allowing the program’s financial risk to be borne privately.

“Nordic Sustainability sets a precedent for a forward-looking and sustainable working environment. It is a pleasure to work for such a company that continually pushes the paradigms to implement a stronger impact vision.”
