Daura van Vuuren

Daura supports Nordic Sustainability in a range of areas, including GHG inventories, methodology reviews, climate policy and regulation projects, as well as projects related to sustainable finance and human rights.

Besides her position at Nordic Sustainability, Daura is a Bevica Scholar at the Bevica Foundation. She was awarded the foundation’s first-ever student scholarship grant of 350.000 DKK for her research project on disability-inclusive climate action. The project takes a Universal Design approach and focuses on the different and changing abilities across societies in the face of climate change in the context of the SDG principle of ‘Leaving No One Behind’. Daura has travelled all over the world in 2024 to connect with relevant experts and organisations in the US, Canada, Indonesia, Fiji, Australia and Aotearoa-New Zealand to collect new insights and bring these back to Denmark.

Through building an interdisciplinary understanding, her research provides an alternative perspective on how sustainability transformations and the green transition could provide a significant opportunity to redesign the world we live in and strengthen social inclusion and accessibility for all. She feels passionate about helping to develop levers for change through corporate sustainability regulations and implementation efforts across the private sector.

Daura is educated in both social and natural sciences, with a BA in political studies from Leiden University College The Hague and a MSc in Climate Change: Impacts, Mitigation and Adaptation from the University of Copenhagen.

What I like most about working at Nordic Sustainability is the ‘eyes on the future’-attitude, strategising what needs to be done and how it can be done. It’s all cards on the table.
